Today, Signal Financial Federal Credit Union launched its new brand, website, and smart solutions tailored to providing its members with a modern banking experience that fits seamlessly into their everyday lives.

Following a three-year journey that saw the Credit Union revamp and redefine its digital banking and member experience, Signal Financial’s new brand assets and products reinforce its future-focused strategic direction, which seeks to meet the current—and future—banking needs of its members.

“We are thrilled to be unveiling our smart solutions and new brand to the membership,” stated CEO, Francois Verleysen. “Today’s milestone aligns our brand with our modern approach to banking and demonstrates our commitment to meeting our members where they are on their financial journey with solutions that will help them make informed financial decisions.”

Key highlights of the rebranding include:

Updated Mission Statement, Vision Statement, and Core Values: These statements serve as guiding pillars for the Credit Union.

Signal’s New Mission: To enable you to make smart financial decisions, for today and tomorrow, by building stronger relationships and smarter solutions to bank easier, bank faster, and bank better.

Signal’s New Vision: Empowering you to take ownership of your financial journey.

Signal’s New Core Values: Service Excellence, People First, Future-Focused, Impact Driven.

Smart Solutions: Signal Financial unveiled its new Signal Smart™ Plus membership, which offers a high dividend rate and exclusive member perks for individuals with Signal Smart Plus Checking and Signal Smart Plus Savings, as well as who meet the account requirements. The institution also launched a new Signal Smart Checking account to complement the high-yield Signal Smart Savings account it unveiled in August 2023. The account has no minimum balance or transactions requirements, and no monthly maintenance fees.

Modern Brand Identity: Signal Financial evolved its brand and visual identity to align with the modern, personable approach the Credit Union is taking to its member experience. Centered around the institution’s logo, the new color palette, visual elements, and font treatment all reflect a contemporary, cohesive visual identity.

Enhanced Digital Experience: Central to the Signal Smart brand launch was the institution’s redesign of its website, signalfinancialfcu.org. Grounded in data and market research, the revamped website includes a new information architecture, enhanced content, and focuses on the value of Signal’s smart solutions for its members’ everyday finances and big moments. Signal also unveiled its new “Add a Product” feature; allowing members to add a deposit account or apply for a consumer loan directly through Signal’s online banking platform. Add a Product creates a seamless user experience that makes it easier for members to add a smart solution to their banking experience.

About Signal Financial Federal Credit Union

Chartered in 1947 as the Washington Telephone Federal Credit Union by a group of telephone company workers, the credit union was formed to help people seeking a better financial alternative and to improve the quality of their financial lives. While much has changed since 1947, the mission of the credit union remains true to this day. In 2007, the Washington Telephone Federal Credit Union officially became Signal Financial Federal Credit Union to be more inclusive of the many diverse businesses in the field of membership, in addition to the founding telephone company group. Signal has grown to more than $400 million in assets, serving more than 23,000 members. The credit union also encompasses over 600 small to medium-sized companies, as well as individuals who live, work, worship, or attend school in Washington, D.C., or Prince George’s County, MD (inside the beltway). Signal is regulated by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), with deposits insured by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF) up to $250,000. For more information on Signal Financial, visit www.signalfinancialfcu.org.
